Arman Sarikyan
Dr Sarikyan is a Landau Junior Research Fellow at LIMS. His research focuses on links between birational geometry and derived categories.
Dr Arman Sarikyan is a Landau Junior Research Fellow at the London Institute. He grew up in Moscow and studied mathematics under Prof. Yuri Prokhorov at Lomonosov Moscow State University, where he also did a masters. He went on to obtain his PhD in mathematics at the University of Edinburgh under the supervision of Prof. Ivan Cheltsov. Its focus was on equivariant birational geometry and properties of Mori fibre spaces. While working on his PhD, Dr Sarikyan spent time as a Simons Foundation visiting researcher in New York. Outside research, he enjoys listening to classical music and jazz, looking at art and learning about the history of watchmaking.
