Rob Farr

Dr Farr is an Associate Fellow at LIMS and Senior Scientist at Jacobs Douwe Egberts. His research is on statistical physics and mechanics.

Dr Robert Farr is an Associate Fellow at the London Institute, a Fellow of the Institute of Physics, and a senior scientist at Jacobs Douwe Egberts. He studied physics at Cambridge, where he won the Clerk Maxwell University Prize. He stayed at Cambridge to do the mathematical tripos, and then his PhD in statistical physics. For several years he was a senior research scientist at Unilever in England and the Netherlands, where he worked on food emulsions, polymers and ice. He simultaneously held a visiting appointment at the University of Nottingham.

Dr Farr applies geometric ideas to materials science and classical physics, especially to multi-scale & fractal systems and crystallisation.
