Spin–charge separation is an unusual behaviour in interacting electrons when they split into independent particles, carrying the charge and spin separately. To investigate this, we consider infinitely strong repulsive fermions on a one-dimensional lattice, describing this splitting explicitly. Surprisingly, the mutual statistics of the obtained charge particles span all values, thus turning them into impenetrable anyons.
