Charge pumping leptogenesis from the symmetric mass generation phase on a four-leg ladder lattice
Arxiv (2026)
Robert Laughlin’s flux-insertion argument for quantum Hall transport is extended to an interacting gapped boundary, where quantised charge pumping survives. An injected fermion produces a flavour-mixing current and uniquely redistributes charge. This mechanism is then related to topological leptogenesis in the Standard Model, where a quantum-anomalous continuous deformation coexists with an exact discrete subgroup.
