Forrest Sheldon

Dr Forrest Sheldon is a Junior Fellow at the London Institute. He studied physics at Duke before doing his PhD at University of California San Diego. He then did a postdoc at Los Alamos National Laboratory, where he worked on memristive optimisation and reservoir computing. He has experience using tools from statistical mechanics and inference to study the nonlinear dynamics of networks with the aim of understanding their asymptotic behaviours. This has included problems in medical imaging, neuromorphic computing, machine learning and disordered systems. Outside research, he likes to climb and cook.

Dr Sheldon researches cell programming mechanisms from a theoretical perspective, using information theory to inform experimental design.
