Chris Pickard
Prof. Chris Pickard is an Associate Fellow at the London Institute and Sir Alan Cottrell Professor of Materials Science at the University of Cambridge. He studied physics at the Cavendish Laboratory, Cambridge and worked at Cambridge, the National Center for High Performance Computing in Taiwan and the Universities of Kiel, Paris, and St Andrews. He was an EPSRC Leadership Fellow and Professor of Physics at University College, London before accepting his current chair. In 2015 he won the Rayleigh Medal and Prize. Prof Pickard helps the modern research scientist see the universe at the atomic scale through quantum mechanics.
